December 31, 2017 Happy New Year

December 31, 2017

We made it to Florida and now are reunited with our GaYa in Fort Pierce.  So much work to do.  So far we have washed and waxed the boat, cleaned the inside of the boat, cleaned the upholstery, filled up the propane tanks and started doing groceries.

We spent New Year's Eve with Nicky, Brent, Lyla and Parker since they live only 50 miles away from Fort Pierce.  On the way to their house, we stopped in at Riviera Beach to reserve a spot for January 7th.  We saw Dr. Jim's boat at the marina.

Brent did a series of fireworks and ended with a great fire.  It was a perfect evening for a bomb fire in Florida.  Happy New Years to all.

The plan is we go back to the boat on the 1st and have the sails and Bimini on before the launch on Wednesday. That is right...the boat is going in the water on Wednesday and then we plan to take her to Riviera Beach Marina on Thursday.  We will then wait for a window of opportunity to cross the gulf to the Bahamas.

  1. Happy New Year Gaya Captain and First Mate! Found your blog! We are in a deep freeze. It was -23 degrees last night. Kyle (Dana's boyfriend) set off some old umbrella flairs at the stroke of midnight. One misfired and warmed up a tree in the front yard! Kim
