February 1, 2018- Last day in Little Farmers Cay

May 1,  2018

7:00am- This morning, we get a call on the radio from Airiel stating it is a go for Georgetown. At least that is what we thought.

7:20am-  We detached from the mooring the same time they did and figured we are on our way.  We noticed Airiel had her main sail up however wasn't moving and was heading to shore.  Steve called them on the radio and found out they were without engine.

We rehooked to our mooring and Steve dashed to their aid.  He used his dinghy to keep him from running aground.  From a distance! I noticed Airiel going backwards.  They then reverse back to their mooring.
Once they got rehooked to their mooring, Steve came by to tell me he was going to help them take the engine apart and figure out what is wrong.
After a couple of hours, Steve came back and said he thinks they fixed the problem enough to get them to Georgetown anyways.  Guess time will tell.

11:00am- Steve noticed our solar panel wasn't charging as it should.  Upon investigation, he realized one of the wires were loose.  You would think that would be an easy task to fix....NO....Steve had to work practically upside down and in small quarters.  He eventually, after a few swear words, managed to get it all working fine.

After lunch, we headed to our dinghy around the whole island.  On the other side there must of been 40 boats anchored.  Apparently, it is a big weekend for the islanders and there are organized races and free food afterwards which take place. We walked to the local convenient store for bread and tomatoes.  We got the tomatoes but the bread was gone.  The store keeper told us it would be in tomorrow however we didn't plan on being here then.  There is actually a small airport on this island which brings in supplies.

Our plan was to go snorkeling however the current was so strong where we wanted to go.  Instead we  proceeded to a private beach and to my surprise, Steve was swimming without a bathing suit.  After I finished exploring the beach, I decided to join him.  Why wet a bathing suit if there is no need!  It was so refreshing.
We went back at the boat and took a nice hot shower.  After having a beer, we hopped back in the dinghy where we went to see what was happening on Airial.  John and Dr. Jim were getting ready to meet up with Nancy and Susan at a bar on the other side of the island.  John managed to get Dr. Jim in a boson's chair. which placed him in the dinghy. Love the contraption he designed to get in and out of his boat into his dinghy.

Dinghy to the TY's Sunset Bar & Grill

Gorgeous view
After a couple of drinks outside the patio, we all went inside to eat.  Dr. Jim was kind enough to treat us all.  The service was Bahamian slow however the food was good.  Apparently, they were having problems with their fryers.  At first we all wanted ribs since that was one of their specialty however the tall slinky good looking waitress said  she was sorry but we had to wait until tomorrow night to get them.  So funny how we hear that a lot.  Guess no ribs for us since we do not plan on being here.

We enjoyed the sunset while eating dinner

Walking back to our dinghy
Dr. Jim was a lucky man to have Nancy and Susan holding his hand.

The small airport runway was right behind this bar& grill
8:00pm- We dropped Nancy off at their boat since there were only the two of us.  The plan is to leave around 7:15am.
Steve and I watched a movie and then off to bed.  What a busy day!
