March 16 - 20, 2018 - Someone is knocking on our door

March 16, 2018  They arrived in Marsh Harbour

Chilly this morning it read 12C in the boat.  Once the sun goes up, it heats up fast. Exciting day today.  Nicky, Brent, Lyla and Parker are coming on our boat for 9 days.  We petty we'll have the boat all stocked and ready.

Picking up the kids at the Union Jack dock
2:30pm- The gang arrived all excited. Steve went to pick them up at the dock.  First Steve picked up Lyla, Parker and their luggage.  I could hear Lyla yelling:"Nanna" as they were approaching the boat.  Then Steve pick up Nicky and Brent.  It was so nice to be reunited ..

After having a bite to eat, we didn't waste time lifting our anchor and headed out to Man O War.  Gpa and Brent snorkeled with Lyla.

No time was wasted snorkeling

Nicky & Brent took advantage of Nanna & Gpa watching the kids

Lyla couldn't wait to snorkel

We all made our own homemade pizzas for dinner.  The kids watched a short movie and then after we all sat outside on the  boat deck watching all the stars in the sky. The kids were in bed sleeping by 9:30pm.
Brent realized that there was bioluminescence in the water so he decided to go swimming.
Steve decided to join him.  It was SO cool to see the lights appear every time they moved their arms and legs.   It looked like they had wings.
We were all in bed by 10:30pm.

March 17, 2018 Happy St. Patrick's Day in Great Guana Cay
What a gorgeous day! Brent, Nicky and the kids explored all day.  Nicky kayaked, Brent went out to take photos of a star fish and then later went spear fishing with Steve.  They caught one lobster and one fish.  Brent hopes to get more lobsters.  They had such an active day.

Around 3:00pm, we left for Great Guana.  Barefoot Man Band was playing tonight at 7:00pm.  After having hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner, we went on the Great Guana beach.  There were all kinds of activity there.  We played bean bag and the kids found all kinds of other things to do.
They had all kinds of different games at the beach

Steve dropped the kids and I off at the boat around 8:00pm.  Steve, Nicky and Brent went to see the Barefoot Man Band along with fireworks while I stayed with the kids on the boat.  They came back to the boat around 11pm.

March 18, 2018 In Great Guana Cay
After a pancake breakfast, Nicky, Brent and the kids went to the beach until noon while Steve and I made water and cleaned the boat.  After lunch, we all went to the beach.  Steve, Brent and the kids went snorkeling while Nicky and I enjoyed a rum punch.  Brent went back with Steve later but still no success.
The kids found a really cool place to play on the beach

Brent & Steve went snorkeling but not luck finding more lobster

Parker also likes the taste of fish eye ball
We looked at the stars and Nanna and Gpa sat with the grand children outside of the boat. Parker fell asleep on me and we also had to carry Lyla to bed.
What a great day.

March 19, 2018  Off to Treasure Cay
What a great day!  After breakfast, we motored from Great Guana to Treasure Cay.

Lyla and Parker couldn't wait since they knew my sister and Tom buried treasure map for the kids when they were in Treasure Cay last month.   They then mailed them a map with instructions to find the buried treasure.  The kids had fun finding it.  They found a big conch with money in it and they buried a buoy for me which washed up the beach.

We then went to the beach after dropping off a load of laundry.  While Brent and Nicky left to go take photos and walk the beach, Gpa and I swam with the kids, played volleyball, ate fries and fried conch.  When Brent came back, he decided to roll around the in the sand with the kids. So funny! We then went swimming in the pool.  Poor Parker fell asleep on the lawn chair.
We all went for a LONG HOT shower at the marina since it was free. We then sat around and had drinks around the pool.  Parker beat Brent and Lyla at Ring Toss game.
After dinner we played a game of UNO.
The day was fabulous.

March 20, 2018 Still in Treasure Cay
Lyla and Parker learned how to drive the dinghy
After a good breakfast, we received a call from my sister and brother in law from Canada to say that we did not get all the treasures they buried on the Cay.  Knowing this, the kids hurried up and got dress and wanted to rush to the spot.
They were right!  They found buried books of native Bahamian fish, shell, reptiles and amphibians.  Brent was just as excited as the kids.
Back to the beach we go.  It was a hot and beautiful day.  The kids wore us out by swimming in the ocean and the pool, volleyball, walking and collecting shells to compare them with the new book they got.

Gpa opened up 2 coconuts for the kids with his mashedi to drink the milk and then we all feasted on the coconut itself.

Gpa threw Parker around like a football

Brent identifying the shells which the kids found today from a book Diane & Tom buried for them

Came to the boat for lunch and of course later we just had to go for ice cream.  Nicky and Brent couldn't resist the cinnamon buns that just came out of the oven.
It was Taco night on the boat.  Nicky, Lyla and I went for a nice shower afterwards.
Upon our arrival back to the boat, the kids got in their PJ's and we had two games of UNO.  I read them a book on the Hopetown lighthouse which Debra gave me as a gift. It will prepare them for when we arrive there tomorrow.
Gpa photo bombing

Such a fun time!

After the kids went to bed, Brent gave me a lesson on how to improve photos with some of the amazing photos he took on this trip so far.
It was another fabulous day.
